Joli(e) is a visual fine artist, working in the autonomous field of multi-media art. Experimental video art, short films, experimental animations and interactive electronic sculptures are abundant. Mostly in a minimalist or dadaist style. Dealing with gender related topics and society criticism. In spite of a major underlying focus on connecting science and art.
Joli(e) makes drawings, monoprints and abstract paintings - the style is a mix of Op-Art, De Stijl and punk DIY esthetics.

On january 11th 2008 Joli(e) got "green light" from the Amsterdam Genderteam, meaning testosterone will enter the artists' life and she/he is officially diagnosed as transgender. The name Joli(e) will still be used as a stagename, next to 'Jiro' (Japanese for "second son").

On may 20th at the NTGF 2009 Joli(e) was performing together with Morty Diamond in the "ask a tranny" performance.
On may 23rd Joli(e) was performing a queer version of "Herzstueck" at the sNOTcabaret as part of 'the Dandynettes'. And on june 13th Joli(e) held an open "vraag 't een bi-transje"-table at the Queer Kick Off Bi-Trans Dag in The Hague for the "Den Haag = Anders" national gay pride "Roze Zaterdag" 2009 event.
September 17th Joli(e) was presenting a Radio show on the book "Man of vrouw, min of meer".
Past events in 2008 - September 6th 2008: Joli(e) performed for the FTM ENCOUNTERS: CROSSCULTURAL CONVERSATIONS event in Amsterdam as part of the International Female Masculinities Symposium - On May 31st and on august 2nd Joli(e) was MC'ing all night at the Hot Peper .
May 12th: Joli(e) joined the fun Fluffmarket together with Hannah Biemold. Joli(e) presented a number of animated toys, showing characters from the Grmbl animations.
In 2006'Helpline!' & 'Search Suspension' were shown in Japan at the Kansai Queer film festival (KQFF) in Osaka. 'Helpline!' was again shown at Kyoto Queer Rainbow Festival (KQRF) and the 'Flaming Film Fest' tour in Minneapolis, USA, May 2006. The program was also made available to festivals and events in other cities such as Seattle, Olympia, San Fransisco, etc. In 2007 this film was shown at the Mix NYC festival. This screening in sign language was fully accessible to a deaf audience as part of the "FOR EYES" programme.
Joli(e)s films have been shown on the Dance4Life event & the LoveDance benefit on worls AIDS day in Paradiso 2005 and were also shown on the Korte Roze Filmdagen. Joli(e) also participated in the Rotterdam R Eject festival 2006 organized by Roodkapje. Joli(e) has been part of the N00dles collective since january 2006 and presented workshops with them at the Ladyfest Rotterdam and at the activist Dutch Social Forum and is now part of the Noodles Radio presentation team.
In 2000 Joli(e) graduated from the Rotterdam Willem de Kooning Art Academy, the Netherlands, as a bachelor in multimedia 'autonome' arts.
Joli(e) has also been enrolled in the 1998 and 2000 SIM programme at the Massachusetts College of Art, Boston, USA.
